Lent @ Lakewood

Lent is the season leading up to Easter in the Christian calendar, beginning with Ash Wednesday (March 5, 2025) and leading up to Easter Sunday (April 20). Below are some ways you can explore your faith at Lakewood during this holy time.

Lenten Fundraiser

Join the kids at Lakewood as they work to raise $470 during Lent! With their hard work, we hope to sponsor one month of services at the HOPE School's Roma After School Program. The HOPE School is based in North Macedonia and their after school program serves Roma children, teaching them about Jesus as well as hygiene, conduct appropriate for school, homework help, art, music, and English lessons.

Lenten Study

Pastor Jen will lead this study. If you are unable to purchase a book from the church office, you can also find a copy at Cokesbury.

Holy Week

Holy Week represents the culmination of the Lenten season and follows Jesus' journey to the cross and his resurrection. Our nursery will be open during all these services.

Bring your kids to our Palm Sunday service on April 13 and stay afterward for our potluck (you're invited to bring a side or dessert) and Easter egg hunt!

Good Friday is a solemn day for Christians, as it represents the day of Jesus' death. We contemplate this event on Friday, April 18, at 7:00 p.m. in our sanctuary.

Easter Sunday, April 20, celebrates Jesus' resurrection. Lakewood always has a joyful 10:30 a.m. worship service with special music, including Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" at the close of our service. We hope you can join us!
